Success stories

Click on the stories below to see just how successful our young people have been, thanks to the Symud Ymlaen / Moving Forward Initiative!

Dillon Moves Forward on the Farm

Dillon was referred to SYMF by the Youth Offending Team; he had no convictions but was at high risk of offending.

When SYMF staff first met Dillon, it was obvious he was a very capable if disillusioned young person, and he wanted a career in either farming or tree surgery. Although Dillon wasn't keen on the training aspect of the project, he attended sessions and worked hard as he knew education would help him find a job.

Success at Volunteer Awards

On 20 November 2015, Lynda Jardine and Angharad Chidgey accompanied three SYMF volunteers to Birmingham for the Sova National Volunteer Awards Event.  Gaz Landeg and Nicola Lucas both received certificates for their work with participants and Charlotte Pitt was the national winner for Integrity, one of Sova's 4 core values. Charlotte mentors Vicky and she has done some amazing work in helping Vicky raise her confidence level and successfully maintain a work placement. Charlotte is currently helping Vicky update her CV and look for employment when her placement ends.

The project has been supported by the European Social Fund through Welsh Government
