About SYMF

Llamau

LlamauLlamau supports vulnerable young people and women who are at risk of homelessness to live independent, happy and successful lives. Llamau works to ensure that these vulnerable people are provided with support for all of the barriers and challenges that they face, from having access to safe accommodation to being helped into a job or back into education. The organisation is split into a number of specific services in order to target the right kind of support at each individual service user. Between these various services, Llamau is able to offer life- changing support to around 4,000 of the most vulnerable people in Wales each year.

Llamau is the lead partner in the Symud Ymlaen/ Moving Forward project and is thus responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the whole project. Llamau's Learning 4 Life department will be responsible for direct delivery of the engagement and assessment elements of the project in South East Wales, as well as providing induction and work readiness training before the young people move on to their work placements. This will cover the provision of Essential Skills training, the development of soft skills and vital work-readiness preparation, covering health and safety, IT literacy etc. Finally, Llamau will offer support to young people as they make the transition from the end of their project to the next stage of their journey to independent living.

CBSA

CBSAFormed as a youth enterprise centre in Llanelli in 1998, CBSA has evolved into a pan-Wales organisation that aims to equip communities, individuals and businesses with the skills and confidence to be better able to achieve their full potential by bringing them together to work constructively and collaboratively.  It does so in the belief that strong communities and strong businesses are mutually supportive: communities need sound sustainable businesses to be prosperous; and prosperous businesses need stable and enterprising communities. CBSA currently delivers a number of social projects and business support services, both under contract to the Welsh Government and through commercial activities.  CBSA is one of the largest business membership organisations in Wales, with over 2,000 members.

CBSA will deliver the Symud Ymlaen/ Moving forward project in South-West Wales. They will provide the Engagement and Assessment and Induction and Work Readiness phases of the project in these areas, along with using their vast experience of the business environment in Wales to source temporary employment opportunities for young people.  These will be fully supported placements and CBSA will provide advice and support to both young people and employers to ensure that the needs of everyone involved are met. CBSA will also provide work-based and additional training to the young people, along with transition support to ensure a positive transition for participants as their work placements draw to a close.
